Open a terminal session and enter the following command to verify the owner.

ls -lL /etc/syslog.conf

If the syslog.conf file is not owned by root, this is a finding.
Fix Text (F-32841r1_fix)
Open a terminal session and use the following command to set the owner of the syslog.conf file.

chown root /etc/syslog.conf
